QUALITY PROFESSIONALS

The talent that makes up our Special Areas staff is second to none. We recognize that our students are individuals with individual needs, paces of learning and gifts. The Creek View staff is committed to helping all of our students excel on all levels and enhance those special gifts that each of them has inside.

Counseling: The counselor offers classroom guidance lessons, individual guidance and small group guidance, as well as assistance with standardized testing and consulting with teachers and parents.

English as a Second Language (ESOL): A program designed for students whose native language is not English. These programs develop proficiency in the English language skills of listening, speaking, writing, and reading so that students can experience success in their classrooms and in social contexts both inside and outside of the school.

Interrelated Resources (IRR): Available for those students who qualify for special education services and extra support. Instruction in the IRR classroom is individualized according to the child's Individualized Education Plan. (IEP).

Media Center: Maintains a state-of-the-art media & periodical center; over 13,000 volumes, 1,000 videos, & 2,000 periodicals.

Paraprofessionals: Paraprofessionals assist teachers in the preparation of educational materials for students. They work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skill initially introduced by the teachers.

Speech: Focus in the areas of articulation, voice, fluency, and language.

Talented & Gifted: A program available to qualified students (K-5) with advanced communication skills, higher order/critical thinking skills, creative problem solving skills, and advanced research skills.
