Math: Develop understanding of whole numbers & decimals; continued application of addition, subtraction, multiplication and introductory division; focus on the inverse relationship of multiplication & division; introduction to geometry, specifically the measurement of areas and perimeters; become fluent in 0 – 10 multiplication facts; understand the concept of elapsed time.

Science: Students develop record-keeping skills; enhance their scientific lab skills by understanding the relation of space & time; learn the safe use of lab tools; explore the attributes of rocks, minerals, heat & temperature; habitats of Georgia; pollution & conservation of the environment.

Reading & Language Arts: Identify & infer meaning from common root words & prefixes; comprehension skills of main idea, cause & effect, sequencing and context clues; recognition of fact from fiction; exposure to a variety of media to acquire information, as well as recall, interpret & summarize material orally; learn three writing styles: persuasive, informative & narrative.

Social Studies: Explore the origins of American democracy and the branches of government; introduction to economics.
